Originally from Chad and raised in Moncton, Nabila Mahamat earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the Université de Moncton in 2021, then completed a combined program leading to a Juris Doctor and a master’s degree in public administration in 2025.
Throughout her academic journey, Nabila was actively involved in her community. During her undergraduate studies, she volunteered at the Dr. Georges‑L.-Dumont Hospital. She continued this commitment during her law studies, notably by working as a Pro Bono student at the New Brunswick Refugee Clinic, where she contributed to promoting diversity, equity, and access to justice.
She also served on the board of the BLSA, Université de Moncton section, and participated in the Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Law Moot.
In 2025, Nabila received the award in honour of Justice Rosalie Silberman Abella, presented by the Royal Society of Canada, recognizing her as a law graduate most likely to advance equity and social justice in Canada or internationally.
Nabila completed her articling with Actus Law Droit and was called to the New Brunswick Bar in June 2026. Nabila currently focuses her practice on Family Law.
In her free time, Nabila enjoys traveling, discovering new restaurants, and spending time with her family and friends.
