Catherine Blomquist – associate

A native of Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Catherine was admitted to the New Brunswick Bar in 2014. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Université de Moncton in 2013 after graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences (Specialisation in Sociology), also from the Université de Moncton, in 2010.

Catherine began working at Actus Law Droit in 2013 as an articling student. After being called to the bar in 2014, Catherine joined Actus Law Droit as a full-time lawyer. In her practice, Catherine focuses primarily on civil litigation and conflict resolution with emphasis on administrative law, corporate/commercial litigation and insurance litigation. Catherine also has considerable experience in residential real estate and estate and succession planning.

Catherine has always been interested in the practice of law. In fact, she was so convinced of her choice that she worked as a co-op student for a lawyer in her final year of high school. Following high school, her biggest challenge was deciding which degree she would take before entering law school. Catherine became very interested in sociology after taking an introductory class and decided to complete a specialisation in that area.

Catherine enjoys learning new things and helping as many people as possible, something she believes suits her well as a lawyer.

Catherine is currently the Chair of the Elder Law Section of the New Brunswick Branch of the Canadian Bar Association. She is also a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the New Brunswick Bar Association.

In her spare time, Catherine enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and walking.
